Angeline’s Journey of Faith

In the Dominican Republic, Angeline Louis, a devoted mother and active member of her church, faced an overwhelming struggle. As an immigrant with seven children and her elderly mother depending on her, she lived in a small, deteriorating house with a rusted metal roof full of holes. Every time it rained, she had to place buckets around the house to catch the leaking water. To make matters worse, her landlady repeatedly pressured her to move out, leaving her uncertain and anxious about her family’s future.

A Prayer in Desperation

Feeling hopeless, Angeline turned to the mothers’ prayer group at her church, sharing her burden with women who supported and uplifted one another in faith. As they prayed, she held onto God’s promises, believing that He could make a way where there seemed to be none.

One day, the landlady took her complaint directly to a church leader, demanding that Angeline leave. The leader, instead of reacting with worry, responded with faith: “We are praying about it, and I must remind you—she is a child of God, and He will provide.”

A Door Opens

God answered those prayers. With encouragement from her church community, Angeline and her husband decided to use their savings to buy land and build a home of their own. What once seemed impossible became a reality. She went from feeling hopeless to standing strong, knowing she was supported not just by her faith, but by the people who walked alongside her.

A Grateful Heart, A New Mission

Today, Angeline lives in her new home with her children and mother, waiting for the day when her husband can reunite with them. But beyond having a secure place to live, she has become a testimony of faith for other women in her community. She now shares her story, encouraging others to trust in God’s provision and reminding them that, even in the hardest moments, He is working.

Why This Matters

Angeline’s story is a powerful reminder of why holistic ministry matters. It’s not just about meeting physical needs—it’s about walking with people through their struggles, strengthening their faith, and helping them build a foundation for a better future.

Through CHE and community-led discipleship programs, we are seeing families restored, hope renewed, and lives transformed.

💙 You can be part of this mission. Will you help support women like Angeline as they build stronger futures for their families?
