From Darkness to Light!

In Acts chapter 26, verse 18, the Apostle Paul shared his testimony before King Agrippa pointing out that he had been entrusted with the mission to lead the Gentiles from “darkness to light.”  This is an ongoing task for each of us as we lead others to get into a relationship with Christ. Here is a story about one such woman in Argentina. Her first encounter with the Light left her broken and feeling unworthy, but the Community Health Evangelism (CHE) team encouraged her and built her up through discipleship, till she was soon able to help others!

In El Sauzal, Argentina, Noelia felt unworthy and discouraged, believing her past mistakes prevented her from contributing to her community’s growth. Despite her deep desire to see her community thrive, she saw no clear path forward.

Noelia’s journey transformed when she attended a Community Health Evangelism (CHE) committee training. Initially quiet and reserved, she experienced a profound shift during a lesson on sin, welfare versus development, and the essence of CHE. As the session ended with prayer, Noelia felt overwhelmed by emotions, experiencing a deep sense of release and renewal in God’s presence.

This pivotal moment reignited her vision for the community, replacing frustration with a newfound belief in her ability to contribute meaningfully. No longer defined by her past, Noelia joined the CHE team in El Sauzal, becoming a vital participant in God’s plan for hope and development.

Her restored faith and commitment now fuel her service to her neighbors with joy and purpose. Noelia’s journey from despair to fulfillment serves as a powerful reminder that, through Christ, redemption and purposeful contribution are always possible. Her transformation inspires belief in the power of faith and community engagement, demonstrating the impact of CHE in bringing hope and change.

Past failure forgotten, she has learned to walk in the light, and lead others!

1 John 1:7 says, “if we walk in the light. as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His son cleanses us from all sin.” What a privilege to see this happening in one community after another in the field.
