While Bibiana MacLeod was practicing medicine in Haiti, she became frustrated as patients returned time and time again with the same conditions. This pattern showed Bibiana that, while they were treating the conditions that patients walked in with, the root causes weren’t being addressed.
The solution? Community development: working alongside communities to help them identify and solve problems using their own resources.
